Earlier this morning we shared the very first trailer for Halloween , which returns to Haddonfield on October 19th. Even at nearly two and a half minutes in length, there's a ton imagery that flashes so quickly that it's hard to register.
David Gordon Green's may be set in an alternate timeline where only the events of John Carpenter's Halloween happened, with all the sequels retconned out of existence, but that doesn't mean it won't be packed with little winks and nods to the other films. After all, Gordon Green and co-writer Danny McBride are themselves big time fans of the franchise, so they didn't want to completely leave the sequels behind.

Master of horror John Carpenter executive produces and serves as creative consultant on this film, joining forces with cinema’s current leading producer of horror, Jason Blum (Get Out, Split, The Purge, Paranormal Activity). Inspired by Carpenter’s classic, filmmakers David Gordon Green and Danny McBride crafted a story that carves a new path from the events in the landmark 1978 film, and Green also directs.
Judy Greer plays Karen Strode, Laurie’s daughter, while Andi Matichak is the film’s young lead (daughter to Greer and granddaughter to Curtis). Nick Castle will return to the role of Michael Myers, while stunt performer and actor James Jude Courtney has also been cast to play Myers. The cast also includes Virginia “Ginny” Gardner (Project Almanac, Marvel’s “Runaways”), Miles Robbins (Mozart in the Jungle, My Friend Dahmer), Dylan Arnold (Mudbound, Laggies, When We Rise), and Drew Scheid (“Stranger Things”, The War with Grandpa). They will be playing the friends of Matichak’s Allyson.

This October we will (finally) see the release of Blumhouse's Halloween . I'm excited as hell and today we finally have word from infamously tight-lipped director David Gordon Green. In a recent article for USA Today , Green finally talked about his new film including his take on Laurie's evolution, coming up with his fresh take on the original movie, and Michael Myers himself.
